The Group 4 Project is meant to be student generated, student planned, student produced, and completely interdiciplinary. The important part is for students to get a taste of the different fields of science other than their IB Science.
Students from all 3 science disciplines taught at ISP come together to investigate on the field; in this case, El Valle de Anton. Students plan to place their enrolled Group 4 subject as the emphasis of their final product, but are encouraged to work across the disciplines and include as much science as possible.
This year we travelled to El Valle de Anton, in the province of Cocle, in Panama. El Valle de Anton rises at 600m from sea level providing a relaxing cool temperature. The students worked to compare the natural and relatively untouched areas of El Valle with El Valle's town in different aspects seen in the experiments section.
