THE UNIVERSITY OF LAHORE. The University of Lahore is situated at Raiwind Road close to Thokar Niaz Beg, Lahore, Pakistan. It has been established after receiving "No Objection" from the Department of Education, Government of the Punjab and University Grants Commission. The Charter of the University is under process with the Government of the Punjab. The University has been established by the lbadat Educational Trust. The University is a purpose built campus, spread over 35 kanals with all the basic facilities needed in a good working university. The university emphasizes on the training of youth in professional disciplines. Much more attention is being paid to such modern disciplines as management sciences, quality management systems, information technology, computers and software engineering, electronics, communications and design and development. Taking into consideration the economic needs of the country, knowledge based technologies are receiving special attention for the economic consolidation of the industrial sector in the country. For this purpose, the University is devoting its resources, at undergraduate and graduate levels for training of manpower in these fields. A number of programs are being initiated for studies leading to M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees. Efforts are in progress for providing state of the art facilities in laboratory based subjects. |
