INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS OF PAPERS.

All Authors of invited and contributed papers are requested to follow the instructions:

 

    1. Manuscripts should be type-written, single spaced size 5″ x 7.5″ (width x height) with "Time New Roman" Font size 10. The paper should be divided into sections, numbered by Arabic numerals and with suitable short verbal titles. Pages should be lightly numbered at the bottom with a blue pencil. Running titles should be given.
    2. Paragraphs should be indented five spaces.
    3. The name and full postal address of each author should be given immediately below the title of the paper along with e-mail.
    4. Equations should be centered, with identifying numbers in parentheses.
    5. Tables should be inserted in the text as close to the point of reference as possible.
    6. Graphs and other numbered figures should be drawn in black India ink.
    7. References should be indicated in the text by author’s name(s) and the year of publication in parentheses. All references should also be given alphabetically at the end of the paper.

 

Please note that invited papers should not be more than fifteen pages and contributed papers not more than 6 pages.

PARTICIPATION.

Conference is open to all nationalities.

Participants from all scientific disciplines are expected.

The registration fees are as follows:

Discount of Conference fee:

20% for registration before August 15, 2000
10% for registration before October 30, 2000

 

Registration fee includes tea/coffee, lunches and dinners including farewell dinner.

 

Registration fee payable to ISOSS, Lahore should be mailed to the Conference Secretariat.

 

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.

A limited number of partial financial assistance is available for authors/life members of ISOSS. Proposals should be addressed to the Conference Secretary.

 

ACCOMMODATION.

If required by participants, Conference Committee may provide free accommodation at the university student dormitory. Hotel accommodation rates vary from US$ 30.00 – 125.00 per night plus 17% Government Tax.

 

TRANSPORTATION

The official carrier is Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

 

BANKING.

Bank is available on the campus.

 

US Dollars/Pound Sterling/Saudi Riyals/D. Mark can be encashed with some higher rates in open market. Foreign exchange agency will be available at the Conference Venue. (The exchange rate is US$ 1.00 = Pak Rs.54.5 as on 6.5.2000). Decimal currency is used in Pakistan with Rupee as the currency unit.

 

CREDIT CARDS.

Acceptance of credit cards varies between establishments. American Express VISA, MASTER and BANK and Dinner Club Cards are the most popular ones in Pakistan.

 

ISOSS Secretariat does not have any facility of accepting any Credit Card. However, personal cheques will be accepted.

 

INFORMATION.

Information desk will be opened for registration of delegates on January 02, 2001 at 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

 

Daily Bulletin will be issued for news concerning the delegates.

 

Messages can be left on Message Board in Delegates Lounge.

 

Meeting point will be the Delegates Lounge.

 

Photocopying machine will be available near information desk on nominal payment.

 

TELECOMMUNICATION.

Mails can be received on the address care of Conference Secretariat.

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT.

Taxi/transport will be available at the Conference Venue.

 

MEDICAL CARE AT CAMPUS.

Please contact the information desk or any person on duty in emergency.

 

SOCIAL PROGRAMS.

A social evening on January 03, 2001 will be arranged by Conference Social Committee. Place or time will be announced during the Conference.

 

EXCURSIONS.

Sight seeing on January 04, 2001 in the afternoon has been arranged by Conference Social Committee. Special arrangements can be made for shopping for accompanied persons. Please contact the information desk.

 

Post Session Tours can be arranged for:

    1. Muree Hills or Ayubia.
    2. Abbotabad.
    3. Nathiagali.

Tours can be arranged if minimum of 10 foreign delegates register for a tour.

 

ELECTRICITY.

Electricity supply in Pakistan is 220 volts, 50 Hz.
