you can't say you know what it's like
the cards never fell this way for you
so i stumble along with an alcoholic's sense of balance
stay the course, they tell me
what course?
life never gave me one
never gave me a clear path to follow
never gave me a chance to recollect

one after another
it all came crashing down
life taught me how to dance
i'm tired of doing the tango
over the pieces of destroyed dreams
and shattered hopes
tired of walking over the rubble
like eggshells in a silent room

i can't pick up the pieces anymore
these hands are cut too deeply
with words and dissapointments.

one of these days i'll fall and not get up again
