SHOP POLICIES are in effect to ensure for your pet's well being and that of other pets. As with many businesses in rural Vermont, our shop is located on the property that we also resides on. Please respect our privacy during non business hours and we request that you do not walk in areas beyond the shop. Please pick up after your pet's "droppings". We will provide the "necessities" and "disposal". Thank you!
SHOP POLICIES
EARLY DELIVERY/LATE PICK UP (Before or after business hours): This is welcomed with PRIOR arrangements and approval only. If a pet is to be dropped off before or picked up after hours, please remain in vehicle and beep horn. This is especially necessary in the winter months due to the snow and plowing schedules.
PICK UP TIME: When a pet is dropped off in the morning, (PLEASE drop off your pet on time) a time will be given for the actual time that the pet will be ready to pick up. The pet can be picked up from this time until the closing time of that day. Please do not return to pick up your pet before that designated time. You may call the shop to get an update on status or I will call you ahead and let you know if your pet will be done sooner. If an owner arrives at the shop ahead of pick up time and the dog is not finished, the dog may NOT be able to be finished because the dog will know the owner has arrived and may not tolerate further grooming. Please call ahead if you want to check in... PLEASE NOTE: If an owner has not picked up their pet within 20 minutes AFTER closing time of that day and has not called or made previous arrangements for late pickup (barring an unforseen, legitimate circumstance), an added charge will be applied at the rate of $10.00 per half hour after the first 20 min. PLEASE NOTE: Your pet will NOT be released to anyone else other than you or a known family member unless you have notified me that another person will pick up your pet. Please give me that person's full name. This is to ensure your pet's safety.
RABIES AND INNOCULATIONS AND SUCH: All pets must be current in Rabies and other innoculations (Puppies...also Parvo). All puppies need to have their rabies by 16 weeks. You may be asked to provide paperwork for Rabies innoculations. The State of Vermont requires Rabies inn. every two years. Some states require it every three years. If you are from out of state, please make sure that you can provide paperwork, if necessary.
FLEAS AND TICKS: As you know, fleas and ticks, especially deer ticks transmitting Lyme disease, can put your pet at much health risk, such as anemia, tapeworms, Lyme disease. Most veterinarians and grooming shops carry the "topical applications" such as Advantage, Biospot, Frontline, etc. We have seen the reduction or elimination of fleas on affected pets with the use of these products and especially when they are combined with the once a month pill "Program". When a pet has a flea problem, the house it resides in does too!. When you call for an appt., please inform me that your pet has fleas so that I can book your pet on a day when I can take him/her in as the first appt. and use procedures to reduce "exposure" of jumping fleas to other pets that will be arriving later. A prudent course is to treat all your co-habiting pets with a topical application BEFORE the appointment here. I have free brochures in dealing with the flea problem and will be happy to assist you with the procedure of getting rid of the fleas. We carry all the necessary pet and house flea treatment products here. I do NOT apply flea dips here due to their extremely toxic nature and find that they are not as effective as the "topical" treatments. If your pet has fleas or is found to have fleas during it's prebath work, your pet will be treated and a charge for this treatment will be added to the grooming charge.
RETURNED CHECKS FEE: We have a returned check policy of $15.00 fee plus the original grooming charges. A new check must be written with the return fee charges added to the original amount to replace the returned check. Returned items must have accompanying sales slip.
PAYMENT FOR SERVICES and MERCHANDISE: Payment is expected for services when rendered and merchandise when bought. We accept checks (out of state checks require current address and telephone number) and cash. Credit cards are not accepted.
LEASHING/CARRIERS : All pets must be either on leash, in a carrier or be carried while on the property of Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Grooming both inside or outside. If you don't have a leash or small pet carrier with you, please leave your pet in your vehicle and come in to borrow one. Pets leaving the building must also depart the same way. An unleashed or unrestrained pet leaving this building is at the total responsibility of the pet owner(s) or authorized agent and they will be held responsible for any injury, death or accident occuring to their pet, another pet or any animal on this property.
RELEASE FORMS: MATTED OR SENIOR PETS : An owner may be required to sign a release for for senior pets and or for very matted pets, if the groomer deems it applicable.
BEHAVIORAL CHARGES: These charges may be incurred when a pet is very difficult, exhibits risky behavior (biting, snapping, intolerance to grooming in general) or has "soiling" behavior. These behaviors increase the amount of time that it takes to groom, reclean or regroom, the pet.
BEFORE ARRIVAL: If this is your pet's first visit with us, please withhold food that morning. Your pet can have water. You can bring along some dry food with you and it will be served after your pet is groomed. Please take or let your pet out for it's "morning duties" before he/she comes for grooming. This will help alleviate any "accidents" upon arrival. If it is rainy that morning, please take your pet out early enough so that he/she is fairly dry upon arrival here. If he/she went for a swim, towel dry!!! I cannot clip or shed out a very wet dog and may not be able to proceed with the appointment that day. If your pet arrives and does their "business" on this property, please be so kind as to let me know and I will give you all the necessary items to clean up and I will dispose of it. Thank you.
DEMATTING/UNDERCOAT REMOVAL: Dematting and excessive undercoat removal will be charged at the rate of $30.00/hour in addition to regular grooming charges. I, as an ethical groomer, reserve the right to refuse to demat a pet UNLESS I can deem that the pet can tolerate the amount of dematting and that it could be done humanely.
CANCELLED APPOINTMENTS/NO SHOWS: If a customer needs to cancel their pet's appointment, please give me a 24 hour notice so that time may be filled with another. Please do call back to reschedule your best friend ASAP to keep them on schedule. If a customer does not call ahead and does not show up for the appointment (NO SHOW) (unless due to unforseen family/personal reasons, within reason) a $10.00 reschedule fee may be charged to book another appointment.
DROP OFF TIME: In order to get all pets groomed on a timely basis, please arrive for your pet's appointment on time. If you will be delayed for more than 15 minutes, please call ahead. A late start can delay the pick up time and change the order of the pet's departure times. Thank you.
