� Campaign Setting for Dungeons and Dragons�The Isle of Dawn. A subcontinent in the vast Sea of Dawn, poised between the mighty empires of Thyatis and Alphatia. Its history can be traced to the ancient kingdom of Blackmoor- perhaps even further- yet the depths of its wilderness remain largely unexplored.
In the hidden vasts of its dark forests, malicious fey creatures plot to rid the land of its human intruders. Nomadic rakasta roam the endless stretches of unsettled savannah, while the diminutive phanaton wage their unseen battles against misanthropic aranea and their spider-kin. Xenophobic clans of elves struggle to maintain their natural way of life, ever aware of the encroaching human presence in the land, in contrast to the decadent dwarven clans who have integrated themselves into human society, the ways of their mainland kin ever more distant.
In the civilized regions, there is a constant struggle for survival. Pioneers and trailblazers constantly set forth in search of new areas to colonize, most never to return. Farmers toil to make productive use of the harsh and unforgiving land, while miners combat one another for mineral rights.
Armies march the length of the island, losing an inch for every step taken forward. Corruption reigns in the land, as petty tyrants and beaureaucrats strip every lucin and crown from their charges, lining their own dark pockets. Bandits lay waiting in the night, striking at merchants and peasants before the rulers of the land can organize a retaliation. All the while, in far distant lands, the two empires who claim control of the land gear ever more for an ultimate reckoning.
This is a time when nations battle for supremacy over the land and people, when nefarious villains plot their own conquests, when the need for heroes is high.
This is the Twilight of the Dawn.

Twilight of the Dawn is a campaign setting for Mystara campaigns. It is set on the Isle of Dawn, a region torn between its imperial colonial overlords and its own ancient and mysterious origins.
The purpose of these pages is to provide the detail necessary to create characters and run a D&D campaign set on this island, during the turbulent era of the Great War of 1004-1009 AC. Most information provided herein can be used in either a pre- or post-Great War era, but certain historical information will be campaign specific, and may need to be modified from its presentation.
