Inglis mayor's banning of Satan trumps anything Arizona can offer

Editor: Inglis Mayor Risher's Satan-banning proclamation has reached me in Arizona, the far reaches of the country (as well as rationality, for that matter). It sure beats the "Bible Week" proclamation of the former mayor of my neighboring town of Gilbert a few years ago.

Of course, we in Arizona can now breathe a sigh of relief, with gratitude for Risher's even more ridiculous and unconstitutionally excessive entanglement of government with religion. Humorous stories about government would suffer greatly if the Inglis proclamation were outlawed by a wall of separation between absurdity and state.

Mayor Risher's proclamation may have some unintended political fallout, however: There's no one left to protect the good people of Inglis from the Catholic priesthood. But fear not, some faith-based initiative (or is it an Army of Compassion?) will be along shortly.
