Becky grew up with a house full of Alaskan Malamutes and a  mixed breed German Shepherd. She showed the Malamutes in conformation, JR. Showmanship, and obedience (4-H and AKC).  She met her first Aussie in the 4-H Club in Boone County, Indiana, and decided that was the dog she wanted when she grew up.  Almost 20 years later, the first Australian Shepherd came into the Lueth household.

Becky works as a Customer Service Consultant at Airline Tariff Publishing Company.  In her spare time, she trains the Aussies in agility, herding, obedience, tracking, and conformation.

Ken grew up on the New Jersey shore and had a Beagle and a Britney Spaniel.  He had no idea about the world of Dog sports until Becky introduced him to it in 1992, when she took him to a Rare breed dog show in Washington D.C., and introduced him to Aussies.

Ken works for DMJM as an Assistant Manager in construction management at Dulles Airport.  Ken has worked Cherry in herding, or maybe it is really Cherry who has worked Ken in herding, and thus his love for Aussies began.

We do not  breed often, as we breed for ourselves when the time is right. When we do breed, we strive to breed to the ASCA standard.

We believe...

The Aussie should be agile, intelligent, and moderate in size.  Aussies should be able to work stock, and when stock isn't available these dogs should be worked in other venues to keep them busy. Our dogs have enjoyed/trained/competed in everything  from Agility, conformation, obedience, herding, flyball, Rally, tracking, and even lure coursing.

Aussie Temperment is of the utmost importance. As, our dogs are out in public most of the time and they live in the house with us. We carefully consider each breeding, to insure that excellent temperments continue on to the next generation of Island Time puppies.

Aussies should be healthy. Genetic problems should not be reproduced in the next generation.  We have all our dogs CERF'd yearly and Hips are OFA'd good or excellent.  Epilepsy is always a concern to us and we are fortunate enough to say "we have been free of this terrible disease in our breedings."

We are also believe in supporting/mentoring Juniors and those interested in the the Australian Sheherd breed,  as they are our future.

Also please note: Those interested in the Australian Shepherd should be aware there are no size varieties of Australian Shepherds. There is no officially recognized Australian Shepherd variety such as "Standard," "Mini/Miniature," or "Toy" Australian Shepherd.

Advertisers of Standard, Miniature, and Toy Varieties of Australian Shepherds are simply employing marketing terminologies to facilitate
the sale of animals to the unsuspecting public that are, in reality, just dramatically smaller than the norm.

Responsible, reputable Australian Shepherd breeders who care about protecting this unique, American breed of stock dog do not promote
the sale of Standard or Miniature or Toy Varieties of Australian Shepherds. This is a marketing ploy to sell faulty, undersized pups
for increased prices."

If you're still interested in a Miniature or Toy Australian Shepherd, be advised that those dogs are not recognized by any reputable dog
registry. Breeders of Miniatures and Toys who state or imply to potential buyers that their dogs are Australian Shepherds are
misrepresenting them, and you should proceed with caution.
