Course Description & Objectives: This course is designed for students to be able to analyze authentic reading materials through the use of paraphrasing and summarizing; to synthesize information gathered from reading in order to give informed opinion; to understand and use terminology in computing; to comprehend and use frequently used words in American academic environments.  Prerequisite: COM1303 Reading III or equivalent proficiency.

 

Amount of work required outside of class:

Approximately 2 hours of work outside of class required for every class hour

 

Evaluation Method:

Class participation & assignments 50%, quizzes 10% & tests 40%

 

Attendance Policy:

Students who have more than 4 absences will receive a failing grade for the course.
