15th Jan: ISLAND PREPARE FOR TRIP TO 'STUTE'
Only a few days left now until Islandmagee make the long, and long-awaited journey to Drumahoe for the Irish Cup fourth round match. It's set to be one of the biggest days out in recent times, and the cup run has created somewhat of a 'buzz' in the local area.
The last time Islandmagee reached this stage of the competition was in January 1985. On that occassion Island were knocked out by Portadown, 3-0 at Shamrock Park. Many of our travelling fans on saturday may remember that occasion well, on the other hand some of us weren't even born.
Unsurprisingly, Islandmagee have been placed as massive outsiders by the bookies. 7-1 is the price for an Island win, while Institute are priced at 3-10. Meanwhile, anyone who fancies a cheeky bet on Island to win the competition outright would get 2000-1 odds if Island brought the trophy back to Wilbourne in May.
Despite being huge underdogs, Institute manager John Gregg has stated that he won't be taking the threat of Islandmagee lightly. "I have showed them as much respect as I would if we were playing Linfield.
"They are a good side who beat Ards 1-0 in the last round and we know it's going to be a tough game for us.
"I have had them watched three times and I have a break down on all their players, so we know a lot about them.
"It's another massive game for the club and one which I'll be drumming into my players at training tomorrow (Thursday) night to make sure they don't take lightly."
Last season the Drumahoe out-fit reached the quarter-final stages before losing after a replay to beaten finalists Coleraine and Gregg is looking to try and go all the way this season.
Gregg certainly seems to have done his research, even though the Ards victory was in the Intermediate cup. Despite Islandmagee being the amateurs, Gregg will know a lot more about our players than what we do about theirs.
For those getting the supporters bus from Islandmagee, it leaves the Football Club at 11:30am.

6th Jan: INTERMEDIATE CUP DRAW
Islandmagee have landed another big tie against former Irish League opposition, this time in the fourth round of the WKD Intermediate Cup. Islandmagee will face another long journer, this time to Armagh City. The game will be played at Holm Park on Saturday 31st January.

3rd Jan: MOORE GOAL STUNS ARDS
Steel and Sons Cup champions Ards were clapped out onto the Wilbourne Park pitch by Islandmagee, but the respect for the Championship side ended there, as Island dumped them out of the Intermediate Cup.
From the outset, Islandmagee matched Ards in all departments. The match was played at a very high tempo and was end to end stuff for most of the first half. Island made the all important breakthrough about 20 minutes in. Paul Gibb won the ball on the right flank, and got to the byline to get the cross in. Moore collected and despite an unusually slack first touch, managed to power the ball into the top corner, past McDonald in goal. Harrison made a good save soon after, before Andy Waide went on a mazy run through the Ards defence and unleashed a curler, which landed on the roof of the net, just narrowly over.
Carl Murray put in a great performance up front, chasing every ball and showing great pace going forward. Island held their own in the first half to go in 1-0, but with quite a few names in the referees notebook.
It was then not unexpected when 15 minutes into the second half, Islandmagee were down to ten men, as Andy Phillips was sent off for a second yellow, after a late tackle.
An Ards onslaught ensued, but the Island defence resisted well. Moffet and Moore in midfield were excellent in their work ethic. The ten men applied pressure to the ball, and forced the Ards strikers to miss the target from several good positions. Harrison claimed some great crosses under pressure to relieve Island pressure. Towards the end, Island had chances on the break to seal the game. McDonald made a terrific save from Tierney, while efforts from Andy Waide and Patterson were deflected just wide.
In the end, Islandmagee held out the 5 minutes of added time, to claim the unexpected victory and progress into the fourth round.

With such a great team performance, it's difficult to single out anyone in particular, but conteders for man of the match would be McConnell, Moore, Moffett, Lough and Murray. For me, Moore wins it, with his great work ethic throughout the ninety minutes, as well as the key goal.

22nd Dec: IRISH CUP ROUND 4 DRAW
Islandmagee have been drawn against Institute in the fourth round of the JJB Sports Irish Cup. Despite Islandmagee being drawn out first, the tie is reversed and will be played at the Riverside Stadium, Drumahoe, on Saturday 17th January. Kick-off 3.00pm. Institute currently lie 7th in the Irish Premiership. A coach will leave from Islandmagee Football Club at 11:30am and from the Royal Oak, Carrickfergus.
