Broken Heart Estate (continued)

The Shyras brows narrowed and her expression lost most of its scorn. She had been a bit disarmed by his obvious appraisal. He was a very vibrant handsome looking young man. She guessed he was maybe three or four years older than herself. His servant Darien, the spy, was younger than both of them, but she had many men older than he blanch at the idea of even discussing magic.
Her anger over his rash actions slowly dissipated when she noticed he was trembling. She knew it would have been the cold that was making him shiver, but the one called Quivern was as steady as a rock.
Shyra? he hesitated, she still hadnt told the young man her name.
Shyra will do just fine. She was sure that if she had had a last name she would have given it to him.
Darien chimed in from behind him. Shyra bad news. Ambassador Welfen is here from the Kings court. The guards have been tripled for his protection. I dont know what to do. We cant stay down
Quivern didnt see her move. He practically jumped when he looked over his shoulder and found her holding Dariens mouth closed with one delicate hand. Her eyes drew his to them naturally and he studied the long black lashes that fringed them. With a quick flick of her pupils she motioned towards the hallway they had come down.
     Someone was coming.
Weve given you away. Bjover didnt make any attempt to hide his voice. You all must flee. Somehow his haunting voice didnt offend the silence. It blended with it in a queer sort of harmony.
Flee? this was his castle. Why should he flee?
The shyra released Dariens jaw and grabbed hold of one of his shirt sleeves. Quivern tried to ignore the beat his heart skipped when she took his hand. No time for questions. We dont know who is coming. We cant take any risks. Move. Although whispered, the command in the last word was unmistakable.
