The Constricter, The Retainer, The Withholder, The One who constricts the sustenance (ar-rizk) by His wisdom, expands and widens it with His Generosity and Mercy. This name has alot of indications, for the word itself in arabic has alot of meanings and could be used in many contexts. Allah retains and holds with a strong grasp not only your sustenance but also the Sadaqa from the givers and accepts it. Allah, The Retainer, retains your hearts during your lifetime, and your souls after your death. Allah controls how much money you would earn, whether you would be happy or sad, whether your would have a good heart or a sick one that doesn't remember Allah, and when and how you would die.

The most beautiful thanks are due to Allah, may He grant us a good heart that loves only for Allah. May He, The Constricter yet The Most Generous, make us among the generous and not the cheap people, and among the strong and not the weak, and among the rich and not the poor. Allah, the Retainer, please retain our souls after death with your gentleness, for your are The Retainer and The Gracious.
