The Source of Peace, The One who is free from every imperfection. As-Salam is similar in meaning to Al-Quddus in that they both negate any form of imperfection while at the same time including unlimited perfection in every way. This is because when deficiency has been removed then all that remains is perfection. Muslim scholars have also explained this name as indicating the fact that Allah, exhalted be He, has forbidden his oppression upon his creatures, including us human beings, for he is the Source of Peace, the Compassionate, the Most Merciful. Let us keep in mind to make du'aa (suplication) to Allah, the Source of Peace, by this name of His.
