Slata Mechouia Tounisia

Ingredients

Normally this Tunisian "salad" is made of vegetables grilled on a barbecue, but I often cook them by steam and the result is good. If you choose to grill them, then remember to peel off the skin afterwards.
2 tomatoes
2 small onions or 1 big
3 cloves of garlic
2 pepper, green preferably
2 chilies
salt
olive oil
( tuna + olives are optional )


Directions
Cook all the vegetables by steam for about 20 min. Then either chop them finely or use a blender for a few seconds. It is not a puree. Add the salt and don't be miser with the olive oil. Put it on a plate and serve if desired with tuna fish ( from can ) and olives. Eat with bread.
