Kunafah with Bananas & Cream

Ingredients

½ kg Kunafah
3 sliced bananas
1 can cream (you can get this from a Middle Eastern or international store. One of the brands used here is Al-Marai or Bilady cream)
1 glass concentrated syrup (Will be found below this recipe)

Concentrated syrup:
5 glasses sugar
2½ glasses water
½ tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon oil

Directions

  1. Grind kunafah. Put in pan add butter and put on heat for 5 min and stir well.

  2. Grease pan with butter, put half the kunafah in the pan and level with hands, arrange banana slices and cover with cream. Cover with second half of kunafah and level with hands.

  3. Bake in medium heat until edges are golden, remove from oven turn over on prepared plate and soak in syrup.

  4. To make syrup: Put sugar and water in pan on high heat. When it starts to boil skim the foam that accumulates on the surface. Put lemon juice in syrup and let it boil until its thick add oil and ¼ tsp vanilla if desired.
