Creative Date Servings for Ramadhan

Ingredients & Directions

30 days of dates, morning and night.... how to make them more interesting?

Try:

  1. Dipping in peanut butter

  2. Dipping in sour cream

  3. Dipping in peanut butter then coconut or chopped nuts

  4. Pressing a seasoned almond into the center where the pit was

  5. Chopping and tossing with halved grapes and mandarin oranges as a fruit salad (if your dates have gotten very dry, chop then soak them in some warm water before putting with grapes)

  6. Soak them in warm water and process them in a blender or processor to make a date spread to top toast or crackers

  7. Instead of using raisins in stuffing (as some Americans will do) use chopped dates

  8. Instead of using raisins in baked apple or baked pear dishes, use chopped dates

  9. Instead of using raisins for topping with fried onions on rice (as many mid-easterners will do) use chopped dates

  10. I have been served a 'drink' of water in which dates have been soaked. I usually eat the date and leave the water, but someone of you may like it. Perhaps it would be more appetizing (to me) if some sugar was also added to the water.
