The Prophet s.a.w. told his companions,
"No work is better than the work done on these 10 days." They asked, 'Not even fighting for Allah?' 'Not even figthing for Allah,' he said, unless it is a man who goes out, risking his life and wealth and does not get back with any thing.'" (Bukhari)

1. Righteous deeds during the first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah are far better and are more rewarding then righteous deeds done on any other day of the year, because they are the Hajj days in the sacred season of Pilgrimage. Because of their excellence and importance Allah swore by them, thus: " By the dawn, by the ten nights,....[89:1-2]
2. Jihad (striving for the pleasure of Almighty Allah) has great eminence in Islam.
