| 5/13/2007 (By Dad) Alicia called about 10:30 their time. She had a blast at the National Zoo, Hotel is nice, fodd was OK. They had some sort of group project that evening. She said they were going to a Mall on Tuesday. I told her it was probably the Capitol Mall, not a shopping mall. She loved flying, first time in a plane, but apparently it was pretty cloudy. 5/13/2007 (By Dad) We got Alicia to the airport at 5:45. She called us about 10:30 to say they were in Washington, been there for a bit, loved the flight, loved everyone at home, and was excited to be visiting the National Zoo this afternoon. The actual program begins with dinner tonight. 4/16/2007 WOW!!! The Masons of Lake Harriet Lodge not only bought a bunch of earrings and bracelets, but they really surprised me with a $200 check to help pay for this trip. I'll be going back and giving them a presenation after the trip. This was so cool - but I felt a little embarrassed that they gave me that much. I now have over half the trip paid for!!!!!! 4/9/2007 My dad and I attended the officers meeting of the Lake Harriet Masonic Lodge. They bought two pairs of earrings and asked me to come to their regular meeting next week with all my jewelry. 3/28/2007 My Grandma just surprised me with a nice gift to help pay for the trip - and she bought 4 bracelets besides. THANKS GRANDMA!!! I LOVE YOU!!! 2/26/07 Today was a cool day. First, my dad sold another bracelet for me to a business associate at Alignex. Second, his emails to our state and federal congressmen led to an invitiatiion to meet with U.S. Congressman Jim Ramstad. My sister Annemarie came with - she wanted her 2 seconds of fame as well. Here's a couple of pictures with the Congressman. Alicia And Ramstad 1 Alicia and Ramstad 2 With my Sister With my Sister and Dad 1/30/07 I recently got some more orders. Some of the people my dad deals with in business, Cad Technology Center, bought bracelets. 11/17/06 I get nervous when I go a couple of days without an order. I have to remember that my pace is to do about 50 per month, and I'm way ahead of that pace for my first month on this. I just mailed out 7 bracelets to my Uncle Alvin's friends in California. 11/16/06 Sometime soon my Dad is going to help me write a letter to the VFW and American Legion about my project here, in hopes that the patriotic groups will want to buy some of my work. 11/14/06 Dad and I went to a meeting about the trip. They had a video showing classes like mine visiting the Smithsonian, the capitol, going to some historic areas, and discussing things on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. THANK YOU to everyone that is helping to support me on this trip by buying bracelets or donating. 11/02/06 Nanette from my Dad's office in Sacramento, California sent a bag of her HAND PAINTED glass beads - they are SOOOOOO beautiful. Look at the link on my main page to see what her beads look like. |
