The Most Dangerous Game |
Is it a nightmare? Is it an illusion? Is it an evil? Is it a fantasy? Is it alive? Whatever it is, if this one doesn't scare you...you're already dead. \This time we are not subjected to darkness. Not total darkness. It is quite apparant we are in a hotel room. It is night, and all the lights are out except for a sliver coming from under the bathroom door. This gives us enough light to see a man, sitting in a chair, staring out the window. The one and only monster, Phantasm. The shower is running when suddenly it's cut out. Phantasm looks up abruptly when the noise is shut off, but quickly goes back to his gaze out the window. The door opens wide and a woman steps out with a towel wrapped around her. She is stunningly beautiful without her usual attire and makeup. One would barely recognize her as Phantasm's new manager Alexis./ Alexis: These hotel showers are always amazing. \Phantasm does not pay attention. He is restless but cannot move until tomorrow./ Alexis: You really don't talk much do you? I thought that was just for show. \He glances in her general direction and sees her. She has managed to slip some lingere on and is drying her hair. He glances back out the window./ Alexis: Well thanks for letting me stay in your room since you got the two beds here. Rodney doesn't seem to trust me all the way yet, and plus he's married. I wouldn't want a woman staying in the same room with my husband. \Phantasm hears her, but his thoughts are obviously elsewhere. She steps in front of him still in her lingere. He glances up at her./ Alexis: Got your attention yet? Monster or not you're still a man. I think you know a beautiful woman when you see her. \This point is not lost on Phantasm. He does give her a look up and down before turning his head away. Alexis just smiles./ Alexis: I saw that. But are you ready for tomorrow? They want to conduct an interview with you. Good thing you hired me.
\She quickly moves towards her own bed and sits down and lies down on it. Phantasm continues his gaze. She is more distracting than anything else to him at this moment in time. Not long from now he makes his IWA debut, and he wants to make it count. He wants to destroy Mr. E. He hears the television turn on and sees a giant milkshake talking, and Alexis laughing. He lowers his head and nods himself off to sleep./
\He is awoken several hours later by daybreak. He notices Alexis is already gone. He hears a knock on the door./ Rodney: Phantasm, come on we're going to be late. The interview is scheduled early! \Before he can even question, another voice is heard outside and he recognizes it./ Alexis: Yeah, I had to wake up your friend here when I saw that we were going to be late. Come on! \He gets up to leave and closes the door behind him. When we next see them, they are all inside of the arena, with a interview set. A woman is getting ready and Phantasm is pacing back and forth. He even growls a little bit and it makes the woman nervous./ Liza Lipps: He's not going to attack me or anything is he? \Phantasm ignores her. Alexis laughs, however./ Alexis: He might. Did you see what he did to David Drake? Rodney: Quiet, Alexis. He's not going to hurt your Liza, this is just how he always is. Shall we get started? \Phantasm stops, nods at his friend, but then continues to pace. Alexis says something to Rodney and then steps in front of him with Liza. A cameraman is told to record and the interview begins./ LL: This is Liza Lipps here, conducting the very first interview of the monster, Phantasm. Phantasm..umm.... \Phantasm is behind them breathing slowly, having finally stopped pacing. He quickly jerks his head towards her./ LL: First of all, the big question would be, why choose to attack David Drake upon your arrival? \Phantasm looks at Alexis, who shrugs. This is the one instance where everyone in the room wishes he would say something. He doesn't even scrawl a note on the paper he carries with him./ Alexis: I guess he doesn't have anything to say about Drake. Wrong place, wrong time. Maybe Drake mouthed off at him when he saw him. You know how arrogant that guy is. LL: Yes. Well, Phantasm, what were your initial thoughts on Mr. E? /Phantasm stops and stares straight into the camera's line of sight, giving a slight grunt and then he starts pacing again./ Rodney: This is not going well. Who was the idiot who booked this anyway? Alexis: You did, remember. Let me handle this. Phantasm has been doing this for not very long, but he's fought many varied opponents and hasn't been defeated once. Not once. No one could topple the monster. The same is going to be true in HWA. Whether it be this guy who likens himself to a juggernaut, David Drake, or the World champion. There's not one person who can take down the monster. He was undefeated in HWA for a reason, and that same reason will carry over into IWA. Cantrell thinks Phantasm has mental problems and is some retard in a cheap dime-store costume? He'll find out the hard way that this monster should not be taken lightly. He has destroyed people for looking at him wrong. Imagine what he'll do to you Eddie-boy. He's rip you in half without thinking twice. And at Showdown, he's going to do that. He's going to debut, he's going to dismantle you, and he's going to move on. All you are is the first step towards gold. Phantasm doesn't just walk up the steps like a normal person. He smashes them into pieces with every step he takes. So once he gets to the top, it's a trail of broken bodies. At Showdown, he's going to make you his first victim. And this interview is over. \Phantasm is stunned by the words, but he doesn't miss a beat. He growls into the camera before grabbing it and launching it across the stage./ Rodney: Oh hell. I hope the tape at least isn't damaged. Alexis: Who cares? I'm sure one of the other cameras caught our little show. And that Phantasm, is how people will start taking you seriously. I'll build you up with words, then you'll back up my statements by doing what you do best. \Phantasm nods. He loves that idea./ Alexis: By the way I had a thought about which title you should focus on first. The tag titles. Think about it. You haven't teamed with anyone, so your tag experience is minimal. It will only help, plus you can always go after another title once you get this one. As far as your partner, I have a few ideas, but it'll take some work to convince someone. In fact I think I'm going to try to get in contact with them now. See you. \She walks away and Phantasm stares in her direction, tilting his head to the side./ Rodney: That woman is irritating. But she knows what she's talking about. Let's get out of here Phantasm. \We leave Phantasm as he leaves the arena. The monster plans to head to Showdown and do everything his new manager spoke of. Beware the monster./
