\Title/
The Sound of Pain
Phantasm...
Is it a nightmare? Is it an illusion? Is it an evil? Is it a fantasy? Is it alive?
Whatever it is, if this one doesn't scare you...you're already dead.

\The scene opens in the same basement we first really met Phantasm for the first time in. Phantasm is not here obviously because the lights are on. The only thing in the entire basement is a single chair, with the Devil's Ring title draped on the back of it. Rodney calls out to his wife./

Rodney: Honey?

Wife: Yes?

Rodney: Have you seen Phantasm?

Wife: He left a while ago. I didn't stop to ask him where he was going because he scares me.

Rodney: Wouldn't have done any good anyway, he doesn't speak. I guess I'll have to go look for him.

\Rodney goes upstairs and grabs his car keys. He leaves the house and gets in his car and before he can pull out, he glances over his shoulder and sees Phantasm walking back towards the house./

Rodney: What the hell?

\The monster glances at him and continues towards the house./

Rodney: Phantasm, wait!

\Phantasm continues walking and Rodney runs up to try and catch up with him. He goes inside the house and down to the basement. Rodney is following behind, but doesn't say anything until Phantasm has finally sat down in his chair with the HWA Devil's Ring title belt now laid on his shoulder./

Rodney: Where have you been man? You win the Devil's Ring title, annihilating Freakman and Q-Ball in the process. That was good. Freakman might not be the same after being dropped on his head twice like that. But then once we get back here, then you disappear! I could not find you anywhere after that match and now it's almost a week later and you show up. You're going to have to let me know what's up, as your manager...

\Something has been bothering Phantasm ever since he wasn't required to guard Angel anymore due to her disappearance. He knows she left willingly because she didn't want to be around the business, but something was bothering him. But he wouldn't tell Rodney. Phantasm felt something was amiss, and that it had been that way. He can't place what. He listens to Rodney go on and on about how he should just take off until he's heard enough then he gets up and grabs Rodney by the collar and lifts him up. Not hurting him, just startling him./

Rodney: What the hell? Phantasm put me down! I didn't do anything!

\Phantasm lets out a somewhat audible sigh and puts Rodney down. Rodney can tell that Phantasm is at least troubled, if nothing else. He doesn't ask about personal problems. Phantasm is glad of that. He doesn't want to be pestered about his past or anything. He has no friends, and sometimes he dispises Rodney for trying to make him one. That doesn't stop Rodney from wondering. Rodney knows that Phantasm didn't ever intend to hurt him though, but he's still a little scared to be in the same room with him right now./

Rodney: Okay, I get it. You don't want to tell me. You haven't told me anything about anything ever since I hired you but it's not my place to try and make you say or do anything.

\Phantasm looks up and glares at him./

Rodney: Not that I could anyway.

\Phantasm turns back and looks down. Rodney knows something is troubling him but he doesn't ask because he knows it's futile to try./

Rodney: So anyway, this week you have a non-title match. It's against Brock Walleye and Norm. I don't know much about Brock Walleye except he hasn't been heard from since he was supposed to debut and he lost to James Wade.

\Phantasm continues to look down. He's listening, but he's not responding as usual. The only emotion Phantasm has ever shown is anger./

Rodney: Norm doesn't have much information either. I don't think you care either way, as long as you get to go out there and hurt someone.

\Phantasm looks up at Rodney./

Rodney: I mean you were just in a three-way at the PPV and the two guys went against you. You came through though in an impressive fashion. Now it's the same time of match with less-established HWA stars. I have full confidence in you Phantasm.

\Phantasm nods and then leans back in the chair and closes his eyes. To either rest or perhaps give the impression he is resting just so Rodney will go away. Rodney doesn't know what's going on but he knows this is when he needs to leave the room. He leaves Phantasm as the lights go out and he is left alone. He grabs his title and stares at it before the scene fades./
