One Dark Night |
Is it a nightmare? Is it an illusion? Is it an evil? Is it a fantasy? Is it alive? Whatever it is, if this one doesn't scare you...you're already dead. \The scene opens in a dark alley. There are two guys shooting up drugs but they quickly move out of the way when they see a lumbering monster walking near them. It looks like a man, but he is a monster. It's Phantasm. He has stepped out yet again from his manager's basement to walk. One of the punks decides to get brave./ Punk: Hey big guy, why don't you stop and give me your money! \Phantasm keeps moving, ignoring him. He knows that his manager tends to worry about people. Even Phantasm. The monster still doesn't know how to respond to the warmth of the home he is currently staying at, which is why he stays in the basement and goes out on these walks. It's because of his worrysome manager that he hasn't went on his own way. He respects his manager, maybe won't call him a friend but he does treat him as such. Phantasm's thoughts are interrupted when a hand is placed on his back. The punk is considerably smaller than Phantasm and tries to spin him around but it does nothing but anger the monster./ Punk: I was talking to you. Hand over your money. Punk #2: Come on man back off he looks as broke as we are. Punk: I just think this big faggot need to be taught some manners. \Phantasm slowly turns around and hears a small click. He glances down and sees this punk has produced a switchblade knife. Phantasm could easily disarm and hurt this guy but he chooses to remain calm to see if he can scare him off, instead of fighting again./ Punk #2: Where did you get that knife?! Punk: I stole it. Figured we could rob people, and get more smack. Punk #2: This guy doesn't even have pockets! \The punk ignores his friend and raises the blade to chest level of Phantasm. Phantasm just stares./ Punk #2: Besides I think he's too dumb to understand you anyway. Punk: Then I'll have to make him understand. \What happens next may be one of the dumbest things a man has ever done, high or not. The punk decides to slice open Phantasm's massive bicep with his knife, drawing blood. It's not deep enough to really hurt the monster, but it's deep enough to hurt the punk. Phantasm doesn't even give him time to react. He picks him up from under the arms and launches him into the adjacent brick wall. The punk lands against it and falls to the ground. He is unharmed other than the headache he will have when he wakes up. Phantasm looks up at the other one and he just runs off, nearly tripping over a broken down couch they were using. Phantasm looks at the cut on his arm. He reaches down and rips off the bandana from the fallen punk's head. Wondering how much Rodney is going to yell at him, he decides to take the long way back and walks off into the night as the scene fades out./
