Hi! I'm Isis, known in the
real world as Janis Ward. I've been writing fan fiction since before I
knew such a thing existed. I remember sitting in my clubhouse when I was
about 8 years old, writing stories based on Star Trek. You won't find any
stories that old on my site, but some of them aren't that far off. There's
a few that date back to when I was about 14.
I've always loved stories,
whether they were told in books, movies, television or music. But, I didn't
really start writing stories until I was 8 and my grandmother died. It
sort of became my source of therapy. Since then, I've written a handful
of original stories, a couple of poems that I'll eventually post here,
and fan fiction that spans nine different television series.
I'm a 20-year-old junior
and an organizational communication major at the University of Portland.
I started my college career at the University of Florida (I'm originally
from Miami), but left after my second year. I started off as a double-major
in English with a specialization in British literature and journalism with
a specialization in editing. I'd intended to become a copy-editor. However,
I quickly realized that I wasn't pushy enough to be a journalist. I positively
hated it. So, now I'm focused on a similar field, organizational communication,
which is basically a combination of public relations, media relations,
investor relations, event planning, marketing, and any other communication
needs a corporation could have.
This is Cally. |
I have one younger brother, who is 17, and
two wonderful parents. I'm the proud owner of a beautiful cat named Callista
(aka Cally). She was not named after Callista Flockhart, but after
Zeus' lover in Greek mythology, Callisto, and one of Jupiter's moons. She's
the third cat I've had named after astronomy and mythology. Ganymede and
Leda were the other two.
So, if you've been paying any attention at all to what you've read about me (and I really don't know why you would be) then you might have realized there's sort of a theme going through all this. I'm a mythology buff, always have been. No, I am not a believer in mythology. I just like it a lot. I got the nickname 'Isis' because my friends and I all went trick-or-treating as mythological beings one Halloween and I was Isis. The name just stuck with me For the record, I have a good friend who I call 'Hela' for the same reason. Isis is one of the main female goddesses in Egyptian mythology. Okay, now that you know pretty much my life story, why don't you take the time to e-mail me and tell me about yourself and what you think of my work? My e-mail address is below. Happy reading and may your muse inspire. |
