She flew high to take another look and swallowed more tears, then headed for the gateway to Rome Red.
The park was gorgeous. Sunlight sparkled off the canal and the tops of the statues. Birdsong filled the trees and she smiled to see friends sitting on the great lawn, or chatting with each other on one of the many benches.
She would miss this place and these people, but the need to go far outweighed the desire to stay, and she flew into the whompa to Omni Entertainment without a backward glance.
The noise hit her first, then the smell. Omni Entertainment was a gathering place for many OT citizens and their shouts and laughter filled the air. The smell was a mixture of the nearby Bronto Burger and the press of people, some of whom either hadn�t bathed or been reclaimed recently by their odor. She shivered when she thought of reclaim and its dangers for the tiny parasite growing in her body.
