About the Guru

Mrs. Usha Srinivasan, founder and director of Iswaraalaya music trust is a talented classical Karnatik vocalist. Born in Vellore (Tamil Nadu), she has been trained in music since her early child hood and was a full fledged performer by the age of thirteen. She has several awards to her credit. Among them is the prestigeous "UNESCO" award which she won for her proficiency in composing and singing at the age of seventeen. Also to her credit are several awards won at the music academy (Chennai). Endowed with a golden voice, she is a play back singer as well. To her students she is a dedicated sincere teacher and inspiring teacher with the ability to impart knowledge of both the theory and practical aspects of carnatic music. More than this, she feels that her greatest strength is training her students in voice modulation (to bring out the best in their voices). When it comes to Shruthi and Laya there is no compromise in her class.

About the organisation

The motto and goal of the Iswaraalaya Music Trust is to make music and music related opportunites available for all immetarial of age and expertise. Ishwaraalaya is primarily a classical carnatik music school with it's headquarters in CV Raman Nagar and branches in Indiranagar and Tippasendra, Bangalore. In addition to this, Iswaraalya trust is dedicated to providing a platform for all upcoming students of music as well as amatuer musicians. The trust's activities include conducting music workshops by renowned musicians and competitions.
