Having a love for all cats we founded Ishmar in the late 1980's devoting our time, love and attention to the remarkable Burmese. With a lot of hard work and dedication to the breed we have now established a breeding programme which speaks for itself, having produced some of Australia's top winning and breeding cats.
After seven years of involvement in the feline world breeding and showing Burmese we extended our interest to a relatively new breed in Australia, importing three Bengals from Llandar Cattery in the U.K.
Ishmar is now well known for both it's quality Burmese and Bengals in Australia and abroad.
Having been a registered breeder for the past 15 years Ishmar has time and time again shown it's strong presence on the show bench. During these 15 years we have enjoyed a credible list of show achievements which we are very proud of.
Some of the most memorable of these wins varying from Supreme Exhibit at the 1995 ACF National Cat Show held in Queensland (Lit'l Mishka) to having won Cat, Reserve Cat and Kitten of the Year with both Burmese and Bengals in Tasmania from the year 1995 until our semi retirement from the show bench in 2000.
