Entry for January 20, 2008 - Our quest to seek the Justice the Legal System failed to deliver.
For what it's worth, let me start from the beginning: "I was born at a young age." No, that's too far back. I'll skip ahead a few tracks, past childhood, past education, past my military career, and past any business ventures prior to 2003. After all, Ishman-Hooper Property Management did not exist before April of 2003.
For the record however, I should state that I was born in 1963 so you realize that I'm not just some punk kid with nothing better to do than sit around all day and concoct some bullshit story. O contraire! Everything I have to say about any tenant is FACT! And I have the Court Documents to prove it!
I will set this parameter for any statement I make on this blog in reference to tenants: "I will NOT mention any former tenant by name, or expose any personal data of former tenants THAT HAVE NOT BEEN PROPERLY SERVED BY THE COURTS!"
I am an honest business operator, unlike the tenants you will learn about in this blog. So in the spirit of fairness to these scum-bag individuals, I will list the Court Case Number for the reader to verify my blogged rants. Because thanks to an UNJUST, UNBALANCED, AND OUT DATED LANDLORD/TENANT LEGAL SYSTEM, this blog may be the only satisfaction I'll ever get for all the many hundreds of dollars paid in court costs for evictions, money judgements, writs of restitution, and service fees.
You want to hear something funny? I was down at the court house one day filing paperwork on a tenant. Behind me, as I was facing the service desk, were the main doors at this particular court house. The doors where the metal detector station is located. As I was standing in line, waiting to file my papers, I over heard the Security Officer say to the person just coming into the court house, "If you want justice, you have to pay for it." Now, I can't tell you what was said to prompt this response from the Officer, but after everything I had been through by this time dealing with delinquent tenants I just wanted to turn around and tell him that he doesn't have the first fock'n clue about what it really costs for justice. In reality, the legal system is just another money making SCAM! The only ones who benefit are the Lawyers and Judges. There the only ones I see getting paid.
I have about 20 eviction cases, THAT I HAVE WON, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO COLLECT ONE DAMN DIME! But I sure as hell paid my fees and jumped through the "legal hoops" to TRY to get JUSTICE.
I think Justice must be the name of some obscure Greek god or something. Maybe he (or I guess it would be a she if you consider that the most commonly recognized icon for 'Justice' is a 'Blindfolded lady brandishing a set of scales in her left hand and holding a down-turned sword in the right hand') is a brother of Zeus. My point is that from my experience, 'Justice is a myth.' It only exists in the minds of Lawyers and Judges. You can shell out the fees and have the tenant served, and you can even be awarded the judgment in your favor, but there is no real justice until you are able to collect every penny owed to you by the tenant!
So sit back and KEEP READING 'cause the shyt is going to fly! First I'll tell you the names, former addresses, and case particulars on each tenant. And yes, the court case numbers I promised earlier.
When I've finished with them, I'll state MY personal recommendations for legal reform that will put an end to the careers of every "Professional Tenant" out there. Being a landlord is not a pipe dream, people! It takes a lot of effort and requires a lot of risk. But a lot, if not most of the problems landlords face, comes as a DIRECT result of out-dated laws that allow delinquent tenants to go unpunished for the financial damage they are 'ALLOWED' to cause landlords. I say 'ALLOWED' because that's exactly what it is! If a tenant knowingly and deliberately withholds their agreed-upon monthly rent from their landlord, and the court system does NOTHING to force the tenant to pay all back rent, court costs, related fees and interest due to the landlord, then the court system has FAILED TO TRULY DELIVER THE JUSTICE WHICH THE LANDLORD PAID FOR AT THE BEGINNING OF THE EVICTION PROCESS!
Whereby making themselves accessories to the crime ad no less guilty, only more so because they have demanded advanced payment for services which were not fully rendered to the landlord who paid for them! This is not justice. This is an outrage! To convict a tenant in open court of their crimes against their landlord and then do absoulty nothing to insure the landlord is awarded his due compensation of lost rent and related fees is an unacceptable outcome and a complete failure of the judicial system, for it is no system of true justice that would demand payment for services and then fail to render said services with no recourse available to the landlord for securing a refund of payment, neither full nor partial, for justice he did not gain by the courts. No I say, this is not justice but rather legalized extortion of a helpless victim further victimized and left with no other lawful means to secure justice. Pipiful, simply pitiful.
If there happens to be someone reading this blog who feels these statements are bullshit, I'd like to hear from you. BUT: I only want to hear from you if you are a landlord, who has evicted tenants in the past for unpaid rent, and has never collected a cent of what you were awarded in a money judgement. Because frankly, if you haven't walked in my shoes, then you don't have a valid opinion of what I'm even talking about. So maybe you should stay the fock off my blog and go read something else! CAN YOU FEEL ME?
