The speaker held up a crisp new bill as he asked the question of the crowd of people who were in the room.
At first a little unsure, a few tentive hands crept up in the air. Seeing that, more hands went up and confidence grew until all hands were raised.
"I'm going to give this $20. to one of you, but first I want to do something." He crumple the bill in his hands. "Now who still wants it?"
All of the hands went up.
"Well, what if I do this?" he responded as he threw the bill on the floor and began grinding it with his heel. As he picked it up, he again challenged the crowd asking "now who wants it?"
The hands of his audience shot into the air. He then handed the bill to a young man in the first row and turned again to the crowd.
"You have learned a valuable lesson today. No matter what I did to that bill, it did not lose its value. It was still worth $20.. So, is your life to God, we often become tattered and soiled by the decisions we make or the circumstances we encounter in life."
"We begin to feel we have lost our worth, our value, but that will never happen in God's eyes. To Him, no matter what condition you are in, you are priceless."
Your worth comes not from what you do or who we are, but by WHO'S WE ARE!!! Never forget it!
