         Abstract

This study aims to discover the gender differences in attitudes toward computers. A sample of 400 males and females from Cairo University students completed a questionnaire on attitudes toward computers. These attitudes include three components; computer anxiety, computer liking and beliefs in computer benefits. Results revealed no significant differences on computer components except one component; computer anxiety. So both males and females have positive computer attitudes. However, females scored a higher degree on computer anxiety that relates to insufficient computer training or use. While males are anxiousless, even there is neither training nor use. So they are more likely to own and use computers. Other results relating to the differences in computer attitudes among groups according to age, computer training and use have been discussed.
