Foreword
Is the LORD God Almighty who created the heavens and the earth created
Satan?
Introduction
Members of the Body of Christ as the Church of God have been called out
(Ekklesia) would ask;
"Why was the serpent present in the garden of
Paradise before Eve deceived?" Hence, Adam 'fell' into sin. In turn,
the 'title deed' of ownership of the planet earth changed hands to the
Devil. Was Satan part of God's creation before Adam and Eve?
This article tries to trace the origins of the existence of the Devil
since eternity past and his career to eternity future using the
'residential' location approach.
First Headquarters
First of all, to facilitate discussion, the identity of
the first mentioned name is Lucifer.
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art
thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isaiah
14:12)
Notes
Don't be fooled by the identity of the 'morning star' in the book of
Revelation, namely Jesus.
Revelation 22:16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about
these things for the churches. I am the root, the descendant of David,
the bright morning star.
Initially, Lucifer was in the presence of God's throne of glory
(first headquarters), who served as the chief cherub and went back and
forth between heaven and earth before being sentenced to eternal
damnation.
The following verses below describe two different persons
who rule on earth.
A Human Person
Ezekiel 28:1-10 Then the word of the
Lord came to me: 2 Son of man, say
to the king of Tire, This is what the Lord GOD says: For you have
become arrogant and say, I am God! I sit on the throne of God in the
midst of the ocean. Even
though you are human, not God, even though
your heart puts yourself together with God. 3 Indeed your wisdom
exceeds that of Daniel; no secret is kept for you. 4 With your wisdom
and understanding you will get riches. You collect gold and silver in
your treasury. 5 Because you are very good at trading, you increase
your wealth, and because of this you are proud. 6 Therefore thus
saith
the Lord GOD: Because your hearts are equal with God 7 behold, I bring
strangers against you, even a fiercest nation, who will draw their
swords against your adored wisdom; and your splendor is defiled. 8 He
sent you down to the pit of the grave, you died like someone who was
slain in the middle of the sea. 9 Will you still say before your
murderer: I am God!? Yet against your stabbing power you are human, not
God. 10 You will die like the uncircumcised by the hands of a
stranger.
For I have said it, saith the Lord GOD."
An Immortal Person (Being)
11 Moreover the word of the LORD
came unto me, saying, 12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon
the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus says the Lord GOD; You were the seal of perfection,
full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13 You have been in Eden the garden of
God; every precious stone was your covering, the sardius, topaz, and
the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the
emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of your timbrels
and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created.
14 You are the anointed cherub that
covers; and I have set you so: you were upon the holy mountain
of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 You were perfect in
your ways from the day that you were created, till iniquity was found
in you. 16 By the multitude of your trade they
have filled the midst of you with violence, and you have sinned:
therefore I will cast you as profane out of the mountain of God: and I
will destroy you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of
fire. 17 Your heart was lifted up because of
your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor: I
will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may
behold you. 18 You have defiled your sanctuaries by the
multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading;
therefore will I bring forth a
fire from the midst of you, it shall
devour you, and I will bring you to ashes upon the earth in the
sight
of all them that behold you. 19 All they that know you among
the people shall be astonished at you: you shall be a horror, and never
shall you be anymore. Eze 28:11-19
The passage of the book of Ezekiel chapter 28 verses 1-10 shows the
prince who is a mere human who rules as the king of Tyre; whereas
verses 11-19 highlight the king who is not human, but a direct
creation of the Creator who controls the human 'king' of Tire. The
Prince of Tire was born of a woman and was not created directly.
Second Headquarters
Lucifer walked around in the mineral
garden of Eden before the earth was destroyed.
Ezekiel 28:11-15 Then the word of the
Lord came to me: 12 Son of man,
utter a lamentation for the king of Tire and say to him: Thus says the
Lord God: The image of your perfection, full of wisdom and very
beautiful. 13 You are in the
garden of Eden, which is God's garden full
of precious stones: red jasper, chrysolite and green jasper, turquoise,
chrysoprase and nephrite, lapis lazuli, blood stone and malachite. Its
inlay is made of gold and was prepared on the day of your creation. 14
I gave you a place near the cherubim who are watching, on the holy
mountain of God you are and walk in the middle of the glowing stones.
15 You were blameless in your
behavior from the day you were created
until there was cheating on you.
The Main Cause of Lucifer's Fall into
the Devil /Satan /Dragon
Because of his dynamism and amazing wisdom, arrogance and
pride arose within his innermost being that he wanted to be equal with
his Creator by saying 'I
will' five times. Can you imagine what would happen
if; a corporate company were
under two leaders of equal authority? Or one ship navigated by two
captains? Or a household where the wife is unwilling to submit to her
husband, even though each has the same power and rights in managing
family life?
Or the arrangement and management of the universe by two 'I will'
with the same power and sovereignty?
Isaiah 14:12-15 Oh, you have fallen
from heaven, O Morning Star, son of
the morning, you have been broken and fallen to the earth, you who
overcome the nations! 13 You who used to say in your heart: I will
ascend to the heavens, I will
set up my throne above the stars of God,
and I will sit on the
hill of assembly, far to the north. 14 I will
rise above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most
High! 15
On the other hand, into the world of the dead you were lowered, to the
deepest place of the grave.
After the sentence was executed there were two effects on the
creation.
First, the planet earth was
destroyed by water 2Pet3:6
Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God
created the heavens and the earth. 2
The earth is formless and
empty; darkness covered the deep, and the
Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Most Bible scholars say that the second verse is part of the
Creation process. On the other hand, some argue that the verse is the
impact of punishment known as "gap theory". In verse
1 all creation is perfect until 'pride' is found in Morning Star cherub
(Lucifer) and through his 'slandering' recruits other
angels to rebel.
Isaiah 45:18 For thus says the LORD, who created
the heavens,--he is
God--who formed the earth and made it and established it,--and he did
not create it to be empty, but made it to be inhabited--:"I am the Lord
and not any other.
5 They willfully unknowingly that by the word of God the heavens
existed long ago, and also the earth from water and by water, 6 and
that by the waters the earth, which was perishing, was destroyed by the
flood. 2 Peter 3:5-6
Second, because Satan is an immortal being,
when the earth renewed to be managed by a human, who was created
according to the Creator's image (the Godhead), Satan and his followers
managed to take refuge in the 'firmament' horizon.
Therefore, the second day is not said to
be good. Re-creation from the
first day, third day, fourth day, fifth day and sixth day is said to be
good, except the second day is not said to be good.

As ruler in the "Air", the kingdom in high places (the
atmospheric heavens = the
second sky) after the earth was renewed.
In which in time past you walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now
works in the children of disobedience: Eph 2:2
The first sky is the
location in the air where birds fly, while the
third sky is the habitat of the Creator where the apostle Paul
was once
lifted up to witness;
2 I knew a man in Christ fourteen years ago, (whether in the
body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God
knows;) such a one caught up to
the third heaven. 3 And I knew
such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell:
God knows;) 4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and
heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 2Co
12:2-4
After being expelled from his luxurious home in the "
the mineral Garden of Eden," he was still allowed by the LORD God to
dwell
within the atmospheric sky that surrounds the earth. Even though this
is his habitat now, he sometimes comes into the presence of God.
Throughout history there have been times when Satan made special
attacks on certain individuals like Job, but he had to get permission
from the Almighty before he could make attacks on humans, Job 1:6-12.
He employs tactics that vary according to the opportunities that open
up. His favorite method is diplomacy. For
example: Satan tempted Jesus after a 40 days fast in the desert, Luke
4:1-13.
He transformed himself into an angel of light 2Co11:14, in order to
hide his
evil purpose. His wiles are almost beyond the detection of the human
mind. Only those who are assisted by God's Spirit and by knowledge of
His Word can detect his designs.
But let's not forget that he is a defeated enemy. Through the
cross on Golgotha, Satan's power has broken.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than
he that is in the world. 1Jo 4:4
Fourth Headquarters
The devil was thrown from the "Air" to the earth. The impact is
recorded below and awaiting for its fulfillment in the future.
Revelation 12:7-12 And war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels
fought against the dragon, and the dragon was helped by his angels, 8
but they could not stand; they have no more place in heaven. 9 And the
great dragon, the old serpent, called the Devil or Satan, who misleads
the whole world, was thrown down; he was thrown to the earth, along
with his angels. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying:
"Now has
come the salvation and the power and the government of our God, and the
authority of him whom he anointed, because he has been thrown under the
accuser of our brothers, who accuses them day and night before our God.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by
the word of
their testimony. Because they loved not their lives unto death.
12
Therefore rejoice, O heavens,
and all ye that dwell therein, woe unto
you, O earth and sea! because Iblis has come down to you, in his
terrible rage, because he knows that his time is short.
And they overcame him by the
blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they
loved not their lives unto death. Re 12:11
Notes
Verse 12 indicates that the Holy Universal Church (Ekklesia) has been
lifted up before.
Come my people, enter your room, close
your door after you enter, hide
things for a while, until the anger passes. Because indeed, the Lord
wants to come out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth
for their sins, and the earth will no longer hide the blood that was
spilled on it, no longer cover the people who were killed there.
(Isaiah 26:20-21)
The period of time in the verses above had been prophesied by Isaiah.
Jesus
himself answered his disciples about His second coming and the signs
of the end of the world.
Because at that time there will be a
terrible torment such as has never
happened since the beginning of the world until now and will never
happen again. And if the time is not shortened, then of all living
things there will be no survivors; but because of the elect [the Jews] that
time will be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22)
Fifth Headquarters
Satan will be detained for a thousand years in the
'bottomless abyss' in the earth and chained.
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of
the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid
hold on the dragon, that old serpent, who is the Devil, and Satan, and
bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless
pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive
the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and
after that he must be loosed a little while. Re 20:1-3
Parallel to that, the Millennium Kingdom will literally be established
on earth based on;
31 When the Son of Man comes in His glory and all the angels with Him,
then He will sit on the throne
of His glory. 32 Then all the nations
will be gathered before him and he will separate them one from another,
just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, 33 and he will
place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left . Matthew
25:31-33
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of God Most High. And
the Lord God will give him the throne of David, his father, 33 and he
will reign over the descendants of Jacob forever and his kingdom will
have no end." Luke 1:32-33
17 But if they from the
nations of the earth do not come to Jerusalem
to bow down and worship the King, the LORD of hosts, then it will not
rain for them. 18 And if the Egyptians do not come and do not
come in
to face them, then the plague that the Lord inflicted on the nations
that did not come to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles will descend on
them. Zechariah 14:17-18
Sixth Headquarters
Satan Thrown Into the Lake of Fire.
And when the thousand years are
over, Satan will be released from his
prison, and he will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners
of the earth, Gog and Magog, and gather them together for battle, and
their number is as much as the sand of the sea. So they went up into
all the plains of the earth and surrounded the camp of the army of the
saints and the beloved city. But fire came down from heaven to consume
them, and Satan, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of fire
and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will
be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Revelation 20:7-10)
An Outline Conclusion
This article tries to reveal the career of Morning Star that can
be traced by comparing verses and between books listed in the Bible.
Clarence Larkin (1850-1924, a mechanical engineer and architect in the
early 20th century) mapped it out with the diagram below;
Members of God's congregation who begin to realize and understand will
be encouraged to spread the gospel before the period of the
Grace-Salvation expires when the Universal
Churches would be taken out from the face of the earth before the time
of great tribulation arrives.
