Dr S.A Pillai

Born in a small town in Kerala, Dr Sathyanatha Pillai scaled formidable heights in his career at various levels, as Teacher, Teacher Educator, Educational Administrator, Institution Builder, Management Expert, A Research Scholar and Writer in the field of Education.
Having completed schooling in Kerala; he did his graduation in Physics and Mathematics and post graduation in Physics from Kerala University, later his educational activities rowed him to many countries like U.K. France, Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal, Thailand, U.A.E, Austria, Sultanate of Oman, Netherlands and Switzerland.

In � service teacher training is his forte. He has conducted & directed a number of seminars and training programmes in India as well as abroad. He is actively involved in Curriculum Development and preparation of text book material with N.C.E.R.T. & C.B.SE. He has published many papers related to Education and presented a few of them even at foreign universities.
He started his teaching career as a Junior Lecturer in Physics at St Thomas College, Kozhencherri, Kerala, in 1967. In 1970 he joined Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan�s Public School, Baroda, as a post-graduate teacher and continued to work there for 25yeare and Vice Principal. For a short time he also worked as N.C.C officer. Apart from showing administrative acumen he excelled as a teacher of Physics in this institution.
He was posted on deputation to Bhavan�s Rajaji Vidyashram, Chennai, as Founder in 1982 and remained there for two years. During this period he worked ceaselessly to establish the institution form small beginning. At present, it is considered as one of the best school of that place.

Dr Pillai joined Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan�s Vidyashram, Jaipur, on September 05, 1995 as Director and after a few months he also took over the charge of the Principal. At that time the institution was passing through times but his administrative capabilities coupled with work man ship and accessibility steered the institution to a respectable position, almost to top the top among the multitude of institutions around.

Dr Pillai has been able to shift the thrust in education to student- centered activities. His contribution includes; activity based teaching, project based learning, installation of various clubs and societies with an emphasis on innovative educational programmes like email club for Primary school and linking it with a school in UK etc. He gave lot of importance to Computer Education, so has got built useful laboratories both for seniors as for juniors. Morning assembly has been made more educative with lecture demonstration programmes and value based. Career guidance and Counseling formed an integral part of the educational programme the students were provided with a lot of facilities for their over all personality development through various leadership programmes.
