OPERATION: "LET'S ROLL!"

The following idea began during a discussion on the Usenet News Group:
"alt.culture.military-brats". We encourage everyone to send this
message to their Representatives. For more information go to the

the contact information for your representatives.

Honorable Representative,

The President of the United States spoke for America when he addressed
Congress on Thursday night, but the most truly American words which
have been spoken were not his. Rather, they were the words of Todd Beamer
when he gave the signal to the passengers to rise up and attack the
terrorists who had seized control of Flight 93, eventually causing that
flight to crash in a field in Pennsylvania rather than the assumed
target: The White House.

The words "let's roll" should be the battle cry of this war on
terrorism, and I believe that the war should be conducted under
the name "Operation Let's Roll." Those words should signal
the start of every military action we conduct in this war.

This is a war which is, as a terrible but inescapable fact, a civilian
war as much as a military one. The first casualties were civilian, and
the first acts in response were civilian. It is fitting that the first
heroic words of resistance were also civilian. It is also fitting that
we acknowledge this in the naming our national response.

Therefore, I ask that you join with the other members of Congress and
request the President to officially rename Operation Ultimate Justice,
to recognize that the passengers on Flight 93 showed the true spirit of
American freedom.
