The passing of Mike Daly just seems so surreal to me.  Mike approached
life with amazing vigor and never let a moment be wasted.
Most people do not care for one thing in their lives as much as Mike cared
about everything.  Family and friends were most important to him,
and his children were paramount in his life.  Mike was actually a sensitive
man if he ever let you below the tough exterior.

He was a man that would make things happen especially when he was told
"no way" (probably because of the rebellious child still inside him).
An example would be his coaching career.  He coached basketball for a youth league and coached his son in Little League.  His older daughter
wanted to play softball but was too young to be on any of the available teams. He joined the league as a coach and helped change the rules to allow
for younger players.  I read a note, sent to him around June, thanking him from one of his ex-players.  She wrote about the skills he had taught her,
and the confidence and character he had built in her.

Mike was the best friend one could ask for.  He would stand beside you when you messed up, tell you what you did wrong and how to fix it.
Never turning his back on you.  When you did "good" he would lead you into
a room and announce your entrance.  He was also ready for a good time
at a moments notice,  I had such good times with him some were quite scary.

Because he was so involved in everything life had to offer, many groups will sorely miss him and have very special plans to remember him.
I would like say that his children are the real tribute to Mike.  He raised them with much love and devotion and they are magnificent.

I have  many fond memories and so much more I could say but Mike would
not want this to be too long (or mushy).  He hated funerals and
other sad times so remember Mike with a smile and keep a good story in
your heart.  Lets celebrate his wonderful life.

I will miss my friend,
