vinh is an owner of a successful bank and he is cold-hearted and not very friendly. he has a brother named tutkanai. who also works for him. when vinh returns from a business trip he diguises himself so that his employees will not recognize him and speculates the company. he learns that the food that is offered to his employee is in poor conditions. so he decided to hire a new company to distribute the food and he happened to hire tanya's company to do the job.
vinh and papeat first meet when she was on her way back from the market and he crabs got away from her and she started to chase them. she was not looking at what was ahead of her and vinh's drover almost hit her. she got closer to the car as he opened the door and she looked up and she somewhat was amazed at who she saw. she held one of her crabs up to him and she speed away. she thought that she did something wrong to chase him away. but the truth of the matter is that vinh is allergic to seafood.
papeat helped out in the kitchen but she was not the head cook at first. there was this other guy that has been there much longer that she has and he is the master chef. papeat and him do not get along because he knows that papeat's cooking is very delicious and because papeat also discovers that the master chef had been keeping the change from the money that was given to him to go get groceries.
vinh also discovers that he hired the girl that stuck a crab in his face and did not seem to mind. though her first day on the job she decided to make a seafood meal and everythin that was brought to the table was made ofsome sort of seafood and he was angry and went to talk to her. which made her view him as a bad boss. and one day papeat started bad mouthing him. this was because everyone told her about how mean a boss he is. she too experienced a few temper moments that vinh had. at this time tutkanai noticed papeat and takes a lot of interest in her. papeat thought nothing more of his friendly gesture.
she was beginning to fall in love with vinh at this time. he was also taking interest in her. at the time her mother wanted her to come home very bad so she cut all the allowence that she sent to papeat. papeat needed money to pay her bills so she began searching for another job to support herself. as well as prove her mother wrong about her not being able to support herself on her own.
vinh at this time was in need of some assistance. he liked how papeat cooked and his cook wanted to take leave for a few weeks so that she could go home and visit her family. so he decided to hire papeat. papeat in need of the money she took the job. vinh took every chance that he got to come home and tatse papeats food. tutkanai was also showing his brother that he was interested in papeat and so vinh sort of backed away.
when tanya and tutkanai first met they got off on the wrong foot. they do not appreciate each others presence all that much. tanya her business wasn't going as great as she planned it to be and so was in need of assistant with money. she tried many different techniques to get the money. she tried to collaborate with other business associates. tutkanai thought that she was selling herself to get the money and of course she was furious. and so she kicked him out. we see that tutkanai and tanya showing some chemistry in this scene. [you know staring at each others eyes, etc.]
vinh's ex-girlfriend wanted to get back with him but he did not want to get back with her. so his sister came up with an idea and they needed papeat's help. vinh doesn't totally agree with it at first but goes along with it. when papeat hears the plan she refuses but somehow they talked her into it. the plan was for her to pretend to be his fiance. even with papeat pretending to be his fiance his ex still comes and tries to break them apart. she resorted to asking to stay at vinh's house and so his sister had papeat come stay there as well. at this time vinh finally realizes where his heart lies and confesses to papeat.
although it was not smooth from there because vinh's ex show him pictures of papeat and tutkanai in patiya i think. he jumped to conclusions and lashed out at papeat and it ended their relationship. at this time tutkanai had already fallen in love with tanya when he realized that he could never win papeat's heart. the truth behind the pictures was that they went to patiya to look for tanya cause she was missing. when they found her they thought that she was dead. but she just went down the cliff so that she could get her shoes. tanya and tutkanai get ingaged and they went into business together.
papeat had found another job in a japanese restaurant and vinh continued to think that his brother was with papeat. so one day his brother came into his office to ask for financial aide as well as show vinh his new fiance. vinh dreading that it would be papeat was not very excited about seeing his brother's fiance. so when tanya stepped into the office he was thrilled that it was not papeat. vinh congratulated tanya and tutkanai with all his heart and was relieved.
he found out where papeat was working at and went to see her but he knew the owner and the owner invited him to dinner. not knowing that he was the one of the guest she made some seafood dishes. he was sent to the hospital and she felt guilty and went to see him. thinking that he was someone else. he tried to talk to her but she acted as if she did not care and this crushed him but his sweet ways won her heart again and they got back together.
so in the end she got what she wanted and became a well known cook. tanya and tutkanai found out that tanya was a couple months pregnant as well as papeat and vinh discovered that she too was two months pregnant.
