Rating:  Intermediate.

 

Instructions are given for a 6 X 6 inches square.

Materials:  Lion Brand Baby Soft, color(s) of your choice.  

-  straight needles # 5 US (3 3/4 mm)

-  1 marker

 

Gauge: 24 rows (12 ridges) X 13 sts to 2 inches (5 cm), in Garter Stitch.

Increase:  Knit front and back of the stitch.

Decrease:  Knit 2 stitches together.

 

Instructions:

Cast on 2 stitches.

Row 1: Knit an increase on each of them = 4 stitches.
Row 2: Knit even.
Row 3: Knit an increase on the first and the last stich = 6 stitches.
Row 4: Knit even.

Repeat rows 3 and 4 until there are 52 stiches on the needles.

Then, decrease on the first and on the last stitch of every RS row and Knit even on WS until there are 2 stitches left on needle.
Cast off.

*** TIPS:
- To avoid confusion, I place a marker on the WS of the square.
- If you decide to use different colors, change color on RS of the square and Knit 2 rows with the same color. That will make one different color ridge.
