"Gifts From God" is a collection of poems that I have written throughout my life. Included are poems inspired by my family, and my faith in God. There are poems to heal my pain and to share my joy. Poems to make you laugh and make you think.
God has blessed me with so much. Two beautiful daughters and a granddaughter, loving parents, and the ability to write. God has blessed me with hearing the truth of His word at New Life Baptist Church in Middleboro, Massachusetts. Where I learned the two most important things in life. First, that the only way to have the promise of eternal life is through accepting Jesus as my Saviour. And second, to find a bible believing church where I can grow in faith, strength, and the knowledge of His word.
In May 2006 my second book "Defend God's Word" was released.
In this book I attempt to share the wisdom I have found in the Bible. To share what God's Word has shown me about Salvation, Faith, Comfort, Prayer and many other subjects. This is my testimony of the hope I have found through my Saviour Jesus Christ. This is my way to give God the honor and praise He so richly deserves for all He has done for me. The Bible is God's written word to us. It can guide us throughout our lives. It can shepherd us to eternal life. It is so important to get to know God's Word, believe God's Word and be willing to Defend God's Word!
I was born in Whitman, Massachusetts in 1959. Where I lived for 20 years. In 1979 I earned an associate's degree in science at Massasoit Community College. After which I moved to Norfolk, Virginia. But in 1997 I was so homesick for what I still considered home, Massachusetts, that I moved to Middleboro. I started writing in my early teens, under the influence of my grandmother, Ina Blanchard Bates. Previous poetry has appeared in newspapers, anthologies, and on my web site www.geocities.com/isaiah1222000.
