Detoxification
Toxins are any substance injurious to the body, especially if allowed to
remain there. They may be unwanted substances in food and drink like food
additives, or pesticide contamination, fertilisers, heavy metals from pipes,
aluminium, chemicals from packaging and detergents. Traces of medicines are included.
Toxins are inhaled from smoke and pollution, absorbed through the skin, or are
formed in the body during its normal processes, or by putrefaction in the gut.
They can be unwanted breakdown products of food. They can result from the
effects on the body of mental and emotional stress.
Accumulated toxic material in the body is perhaps the greatest factor inhibiting
good health. Nutritional therapy can help the cells to rid themselves of toxic
material, which passes into the bloodstream and is then removed to the outside.
The condition of the bowel is very important.
