Hi, everyone.
Community is the place you are living, includes public facilities, roads, houses. These days people are very interested in comfortable life, and some changes are taking place in our community. Here is an example of the change, took place in British Colombia, where we are living now.
The failure of our health care system has been pointed out by many people. Problems are such as....
-There are not enough acute care beds.
- emergency rooms are over crowded and impose long waits.
-limited office hours
Also health care system is expensive because there are highly trained staff and many equipment. As well, many ailments don't require the skills of physicians.
For advancement of health care system, there are now 10 "new type of health care center" in our province to be tested in small communities.
-24hours a day facility
-There are many "front caregivers" with less complex tasks.
Caregivers listen to clients and advise them in health care, or refer them to more skilled professionals as necessary. It means decrease the health care cost.
-They coordinate home visit, especially for elderly people.
-They have time to know their client's family status and living condition to give them the best type of care.
This new type of health care center reduce health care costs while maintaining quality of care.
