SUGGESTIONS ??
My idea is that MyGolden.org can be a "community garden" of sorts -- everyone is welcome to add their own content and help shape our website! CLICK HERE to see how easy this can be.
Ideally, I'd love to see our family site evolve into a Golden "virtual community" that helps to keep us in touch with each other's lives. To this extent, I've tried to be as INCLUSIVE AS POSSIBLE. (Note the inclusion of family friends and significant others.)
What do YOU think would generate CONTINUED INTEREST and participation in our site? Your suggestions & contributions regarding purpose, content, layout, etc. are greatly welcome.
In terms of Layout, just a few POINTERS to keep in mind:
-- Best to keep visually simple. Too much on a page can be overwhelming. (This page is probably a good example of what NOT to do!)
-- Avoid having to precisely align items. As you may have noticed, it's not easy to keep everything on the page in an exact location. This is because NOT every computer or web browser will display things in precisely the same way. Best layouts are somewhat open, allowing for a small degree of error.
-- Yahoo GeoCities, which is hosting this website, is completely FREE. Consequently, we are not entirely unlimited in what we can do with our website. However, I am honestly amazed how much you do get for "nothing", minus a few pesky banner ads.
