"The Book Of Irvings"

First published in the year 1907, the book was written by Colonel John Beaufin Irving of Bonshaw.  Its 295 pages include portraits,   views of places of interest connected with the family and Coats of Arms in full colour by the Herald Painter to the Court of Lord Lyon.
( if you wish to order this book go here)
Colonel John Beaufin Irving has written not only a splendid memorial of the clan, but a testimony to the spirit of undying fraternity which animates its living members, who know the past and seek to carry its inspiring traditions into the future. It is impossible to enumerate all the great names who figure in the story, many of whom have played important parts in warfare, literature, theology, law, and science, but their perusal is sufficient to make every Irving feel that he belongs to no mean band, scattered though they may be throughout every land where the English language is spoken.

-from the 'Daily Telegraph' 18 December 1907
