He was supposed to help Buff Bagwell win the vacant I.C title against DX member Triple H, however, Taz pulled off his NWO shirt and helped Triple H win, turning on NWO...This started a month long fued with the NWO, a high profile fued which helped strengthen Taz's fan support...His in ring debut was on Raw on 1-31-00, where he challenged any member of NWO, no one wanted him in ring, so NWO thru an NWO shirt on Mucha Lucha III and made him an honory member for NWO for one night and watched Taz destroy him in the RAW main event...Defeated Scott Hall on 2-7-00...and lost to Kevin Nash on 2-14-00...Defeated Big Poppa Pump on 2-21-00...Kept losing to Buff Bagwell in 3 way contests, and in a singles bout on 3-9-00...Continued to help "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in the war with the NWO until they met head to head at Wrestlemania 2000, the match ended due to NWO interference...Finally defeated Buff Bagwell on SMACKDOWN on 4-13-00...Taz teamed with Austin and Randy Savage in a elimation match against NWO members Bagwell and the Outsiders...Started to branch out and face other superstars and defeated Val Venis, Justin Credible, the Godfather and Rob Van Dam...Defeated Rob Van Dam again at JudgeMent Day on 5-21-00...This was in the middle of his fued with RVD and Sabu...Took on Sabu at King of the Ring in June and defeated him when RVD hit Sabu by accident...The 3 met in a 3 way dance at Fully Loaded in July and Taz won again...Beat Rhino on 7-20-00, and teamed with Booker T to beat Corino and Rhino on 7-27-00...Beat Steve Corino on RAW on 7-24-00...Got involved in a suplex war with Kurt Angle and met him at SummerSlam 2000, Taz lost, then Angle and the Network, comprised of Rhino, Corino and Tajiri all destroyed Taz and injured him, puttin him out for a few weeks...Taz started his return on RAW on 10-23-00 when he surprisingly helped Raven retain the Hardcore title against Steve Blackman. Helped Raven beat the Big Bossman again on 11-2-00, and again on 11-9-00 against Hardcore Holly. Taz surprised everyone by turning fan favorite on RAW on 11-13-00 by helping Disco Inferno beat Raven...Defeated Raven at Survivor Series on 11-19-00 for the Hardcore title...Won his first I.C title from Kurt Angle on RAW on 11-27-00 and held IC and Hardcore title at once...Lost the IC title in a hardcore match to Raven at Armageddon in december 2000...Continued to defend the Hardcore title...Lost the Hardcore Title to a returning madman, Brian Pillman on 1-22-01 but quickly won it back on 2-5-01...The two met again at No Way Out and Pillman walked away with the Hardcore title for the second time...Started a fued with the new Triple Threat, met the big man of the group, Bam Bam Bigelow all around the country and met him at Wrestlemania on 3-25-01 and won...Became obsessed with choking out team leader, The Franchise and made him the focus of his attack...Teamed with RVD and Sabu, two former enemies at Backlash to face the Triple Threat and lost...Taz still continues to try and get Douglas in the ring for a one on one, but Shane will have nothing to do with it... |
