In Moffat we stayed at the Black Bull Hotel est. 1568. Wells street is particularly picturesque with its painted house fronts. Drumlanrig Castle, the home of the Douglas family sits on 120,000 acres. Jedburgh Abbey and Melrose Abbey are beautiful examples of carved stone.
