I have started to work on Hasagawa's ME109K. I picked the kit up for $20 in Florida. I am planning to paint it with winter camo. It's very cold outside ( so much for global warming ) so progress will be slow. I like to airbrush in natural light and need to keep the windows open. |

Well some progess now that it has warmed up. Overall the fit of the kit is great, but I did have to overcome some minor problems. I will post more details as soon as I scan in the directions for the kit so I can point things out more clearly. As you can see I have a few coats of white. In between each coat, I sand the paint down ( a lesson I learned the hard way ) so I dont end up with a grainy orange-peel finish. I actually use the left over paper from parafilm as sandpaper ! It has about the same grit as plain paper. Anything stronger will strip the paint. It is a delicate process and very necessary. |
