Without you, the ground thaws, the rain falls, the grass grows.
Without you, the seeds root, the flowers bloom,
The children play. The stars gleam, the poets dream, the eagles fly, without you.
The earth turns, the sun burns, but I die, without you.
Without you, the breeze warms, the girl smiles, the cloud moves.
Without you, the tides change, the boys run, the oceans crash.
The crowds roar, the days soar, the babies cry, without you.
The moon glows, the river flows, but I die, without you.
It had been a year.
It was almost impossible to say she hadn't changed. For one thing, she had blossomed in her chest, was a head taller, and had shorter hair. Her bright cerulean eyes seemed duller, though, and she seemed less happy than before. There were times when all she could do was try to hold back tears and remember. But sometimes, Katara thought, that was probably the easiest part.
The hardest part was not remembering.
The world revives,
Colors renew,
But I know blue, only blue, lonely blue, within me blue
Without you. Without you the hand gropes, the ear hears, the pulse beats.
So much had changed in a year.
It was very impossible to say it hadn't. He was no longer the quite, shy videogame nerd girls tended to crush on. Hell, he wasn't even sure he was Zuko anymore. He was gone, as well as his mother, as well as his friends.
As well as her.
He had no idea why he didn't tell her. Maybe it was because she was only twelve, or that she was to outgoing to listen.
But now more than anything, he regretted ever thinking that she wouldn't.
The tears dry, without you.
Life goes on, but I'm gone.
'Cause I die, without you.
Katara felt herself die a little inside everytime she saw a photograph of him. Or when she remembered the way he smiled.
She cried softly into her pillow, wanting to wake up from this nightmare.
Without you
He hated the color blue now. It was a reminder. He didn't want to remember. But yet, he felt a bit at peace when he saw it. And then a little tug at his heart.
Yes, that was what he hated.
Without you
