"What's wrong with you?" Zuko asked rather sarcastically, thrusting a leg out from pedaling on his bicycle to the sidewalk to come to a slow stop in front of Katara. She looked down at him from the backyard stone wall jutting out of the ground. Kicking her legs out in front of her, she landed on her feet next to him.

"Sokka won't take me to the comic book store to get the newest 'Boulder' comic," She grumbled, kicking a nearby stone haphazardly into the street.

He quirked his eyebrow.

"I know! You can take me on your bike!" Katara gleefully placed both her hands on the handlebars when Zuko stood abruptly in front of her and shoved her hands away from his shiny bicycle.

"No, go away Katara," He said, "Why don't you just ask Haru to get it for you?"

"He's not home, dumb-dumb," Katara rolled her eyes. Zuko scowled at her nickname. "C'mon, please!" She pouted.

"No-"

"I'll give you a twinkie," She promised, smiling brightly.

He was coasting down the side of the street with Katara sitting on the handlebars in front of him. Zuko had to continuously look around Katara to see the street in front of him, swerving around annoyed pedestrians.

When they finally got in front of the comic book store, Katara zipped into the store and began to browse through the shelves of comic books until she found the newest issue of 'The Boulder'. Grinning, she flipped through the crisp pages.

"Katara, are you going to buy that?" Zuko asked, clearly annoyed.

"Don't have the money," she commented, looking through the pages with awe.

"Ugh! You made me bring you all the way here and you didn't bring money?!" Zuko began to stalk out of the comic book store when she grabbed him by the sleeve.

"Three twinkies if you buy it for me."

"No way!"

"Five twinkies?"

Zuko handed his spare allowance of $6.35 to the cashier who took the dozens of quarters rather awkwardly before returning a dime to the young child. The boy looked exasperatedly at Katara, who was now sitting on his bike.

"Get off, Katara," He barked at her.

"I'll give you a-"

"No, why don't you walk home?" Zuko asked, rolling his eyes irritatedly.

"Please! I'll ask Gran-Gran if she can give you the whole box of Twinkies!" Katara said, pouting once more.

When he'd finally dropped off Katara in front of her house, he sighed and shoved his hands in front of his face.

"Just bring back the twinkies," He said, pausing outside her door. Katara sprinted inside and he was left lingering outside for a good ten minutes before he began to stomp to the door and ring the doorbell furiously.

Katara opened the door sheepishly.

"Er, Zuko.. we kind of ran out of twinkies-"

"WHAT!"

He stormed off in the opposite direction, grabbing the handlebars of his bike when Katara came running outside, her short legs carrying her quickly across the lawn.

"Wait!"

"No way am I going to fall for that again!"

"Just-"

"NO!"

Her kiss caught him completely off-guard. Zuko's eyes widened as he felt Katara's lips press fully against his cheek. She then chastely pulled away, staring at her sneakers.

"I think I should be going home-"

"I'll bring the twinkies tomorrow!" Katara called, sheepishly, before running back inside. Gran-Gran looked out from the window with a small grin on her face.

Zuko sped down to his house, parked the bicycle in his backyard and bounded up the stairs, trying to hide the small blush that was spreading across his face.

That Katara better bring those twinkies tomorrow, he thought, as the blush grew a shade pinker.
