“I hate winter,” Azula grumbled. “It’s freezing cold, everything turns white, and I always slip on ice!”

As they continued their walk to school, Zuko looked at the freshly snow-covered trees. “I don’t think it’s so bad” he replied, grinning.

Azula stared back and wondered if some alien life form had taken over her brother’s body when her back was turned. “Since when? You hate winter more than I do.”

“This year is different.”

“Why?”

Zuko smirked. “Because Katara can’t throw water balloons at me during the winter.”

Azula raised an eyebrow. “You may be right about the water balloons, but there’s something she can do that’s actually worse.”

Before Zuko could question this comment, a voice suddenly cried out, “Hey Zuko!”

The boy turned toward the voice.

SPLAT!

His face was greeted by a ball of wet snow.

Azula smirked. “As I was saying, Katara can easily make snowballs.”

Zuko said nothing as he watched Katara laugh, and then used his mittens to brush the snow off his face. “It’s going to be a long winter” he grumbled.
