It wasn't his fault.
Or atleast that's what he told everyone. And they believed him. Everyone except for her brother and father.

"So tell me, just how did she fall off the jungle gym?" Mr. Hakoda raised an eyebrow, arms crossed. His eyes narrowed, putting pressure on the poor boy.
"Well, erm...she was just sitting on one of the bars and fell off." Zuko explained, knowing he wouldn't believe it.
Sokka, standing next to his father, frowned.
"We all know it was you." He said in a threatening tone. "You and your evil ways of twinkies and PSPs..."
Zuko opened his mouth to retort, but immiediatly shut up after a nurse walked into the waiting room.
"She's awake." The woman nodded.
"Great, can we see her?" Mr. Hakoda asked, just happy his daughter was alright.
The nurse nodded.
"Follow me." She said, leading them to Katara's hospital room.

Katara opened her eyes, groaning as she registered aching in her back and legs. Immiediatly she shut them, blinding light filling her eyes.
"Katara, dear, are you alright?" Mr. Hakoda asked his young daughter anxiously, wringing his wrists.
Katara only nodded slowly, opening her eyes a little, glad to hear her father's voice. "What happened?" She asked, realizing she couldn't move her left arm.
"Zuko can explain that." Sokka answered, hate nearly dripping from his words.
Zuko frowned nervously. "You fell off the jungle gym." He explained, looking towards the ground. "And broke your arm."
Katara glanced at the white bulky cast on her arm. "Oh." She said softly, a bit angry now. "This doesn't mean I'll get to go to the swim meet, does it?"
Mr. Hakoda shook his head, sighing slightly. "Atleast you didn't break your neck." He said thankfully. Katara shrugged.
"Well I didn't." She rubbed the cast, feeling an itchy sensation crawl up her arm.
"It was all my fault." Zuko admitted, his words coming out in a rush. His friend only stared at him.
Mr. Hakoda once again raised an eyebrow. "C'mon Sokka. Let's leave them alone."
"But Dad--"
"Come on Sokka."
As soon as they left, Katara cast a confused look at Zuko.
"Why was it your fault?" She asked slowly.
"I could've caught you." Zuko shrugged, looking away in an ashamed manner.
"What? Zuko, that wasn't your fault. It was no ones. Who told you?"
"Your dad. And Sokka."
"Oh, don't mind them. You know they're overprotective silly-heads."
"..."
Zuko reached in his pocket, pulling out something small and in a silver wrapper.
"What's that?" Katara asked, eyeing him suspicously.
"It's an apology present. For it being my fault. But I guess it doesn't matter anymore." Zuko only shrugged.
Katara narrowed her eyes. "Give it to me."
Zuko put it in her hand, and she unwrapped quicker than anyone he had ever seen.
"A twinkie." She smirked, taking a bite out of it. "Thanks."
"No Problem."
"Oh...Zuko? I've decided it is your fault...how about another apology present? I was thinking your PSP..."
