Spiteful

I can be so spiteful,
But you can give your share.
You can be so hurtful,
I know now you don't care.
You never show your feelings,
A faade's all I see,
All I want is you to love me,
But you only let me be.
Long since tired of the illusion,
It rains here everyday.
I try hard to be happy,
But you steal it all away.
Empty promises

If you loved me, you wouldn't be afraid to say it,
Lay it bare, put your emotions on the line.
Trust me, I won't hurt you this time, you have my word.
It will be different now, I promise.
I've learnt, I've grown and I know what to do.
I'll put my share in, I'll make it up to you.
Believe me, what do I have to do to make it right?
How can I convince you I've changed?
I'll wait forever for you, you're the only one for me.
Forgive me for what I did, I'll never do it again...
...maybe.
Don't you think I'd tell you?

Don't you think I'd tell you,
If I didn't love you?
Aren't my emotions obvious
From my every movement?
If you would listen to my heart,
For just one moment,
You would know my wanting.

I can't be still for a minute
When I'm around you.
Keeping moving is the only
Alternative to collapsing and weeping.
Just to see you lights my way,
Just to touch you electrifies my day.
Smitten

He can't bring himself to say it's love,
So it's smitten.
He's been hurt so many times,
Innocence has been taken by so many lies.
Barely understands his own feelings,
Never mind the emotions of others.
So it's smitten.
Cries in the night sometimes,
Wonders why his life has so much pain.
Fleeting love and passing touch are never enough,
But commitment makes him too vulnerable.
So it's smitten.
Too frightened to say it's love, So he's smitten.
