JAKE MAURER-Lead Vocals & Acoustic Guitar
My earliest memories of music occur in the family van while on vacations listening to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.  My love of country music is set in these roots.  I have always been interested in the vocal aspect of country music and learned to play the guitar just so I could sing my favorite songs.  Throughout high school my favorite singer was Garth Brooks.  In college I turned away from the current Nashville scene and have never looked back.  My favorite voice of all time is George Jones followed very closely by Loretta Lynn.  Pat Green is my favorite singer/songwriter of the new country generation.  In my truck CD player you would find George Jones, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Johnny Cash, David Allen Coe, Allison Krause, Kenny Rogers, and Willie Nelson among others.  In "Irons in the Fire" I play rhythm acoustic guitar and sing lead vocals.

JIM SLEDGE-Electric Guitar & Background Vocals
Slash and Izzy of Guns N' Roses were the reason I picked up a guitar.  Slash is still my favorite guitar player today.  Other early influences are Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi, Angus & Malcolm Young, and Keith Richards.  They inspired me to study the old blues players.  Some of my favorites are Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, B.B. King, Albert King, and Albert Collins.  I had only recently begun to study country music ( people like Cash, Coe, Paycheck, Willie, Waylon, and Hank) when Jake and I got together to form this band.  As electric guitar player in Irons in the Fire,  I get to combine hard rock, blues, and country.
