The News for those few who play real croquet! August 13, 1999

Lunar Open occurs, ends abruptly!

Steve wins, but the league loses.

By Ben Lasher

The Lunar Open ended quickly as the Unfreds left their own event, upset in
a non-croquet related argument. Only time will tell if wounds will heal.

The rest of the league was left in shock. Nathan said, "Uhhh..", in
confusion at how the events had transpired.

Steve won his own tourney, with Nathan a solid second, and Brandon a
lucky third.

This event marks a milestone as such, as Brandon and Ben have now played
in 10 events this year!

Points as they now stand:

Next up

Pez Invitational, will be August 21st, 7 p.m. in the spacious Jon
Dome. Pez will be given, croquet will be played, people will be used.

Sport's Day Festival, was to be September 4th, at a school but has
now been moved to August 28th at Nathan's course at 10 AM.

The reason for this is twofold. One, Labor Day weekend is September 4th,
and two, "The Living Legend" will be in town for the 28th.

Later on the Tour:

Spam Invitational, September 24th

The IMC Tournament of Champions. And on October 2nd, the final
Major, and last Tourney of the season will occur. Mark your calendars!

Some time after the final Major, (It went so fast didn't it?) will be
the awards party. All players should attend and such. Though I'm sure,
some of you will have excuses. Amy and Jon will be in college out of city,
and Scott, like always, will be sitting in front of a computer in
California.
