Alan wins in Jon's honor, Steve and Nathan get Pezed!
By Brandon Lasher
"This is what happens when you get rejected!" Alan said. Now this isn't shocking
news to us, but it was Alan's reasoning for ending his three month winless drought. I
guess he felt since he and Jon got rejected all the time, it was Jon's presence which
allowed Alan to run away with the Jon Crawford Memorial Pez Invitational. Steve good
play continued with a second, and Nathan third.
But the croquet world was shocked by the arrival of a new faction, P.A.R.
Players Against Rudeness, with Steve and Brandon in white dress shirts and ties, spent
the event getting after every player for rudeness. Nathan prefering the old rude Brandon,
edged him out for third. "Finishing fourth is unacceptable," said the great Brandon.
Ben and Tessa took fifth and sixth respectivly. But the goal was Pez and when
the day was over, three players won Pez. Yes, that crap candy that brought so much joy
to Jon's tragically short life. Or maybe he just moved to California and forgot to tell
us. This Pez is for you!

Jon Crawford: The Man, The Myth, The Pez
Jon Crawford. When you make a list of the best five croquet players in history, you have to include Jon. Four-time winner, Best Sportsmen, inventor of the Pez Invitational, IBM hater, and self-proclaimed ladies man, he was one of the greats. But what does the rest of the league think of this man? "I remember when we ate pudding while wearing cowboy hats," said Alan, showing the his relationship with Jon was a very close one. Why Jon had good relationships with everyone, which is why we is considered one of the nicest guys to ever play the game. "Poor Jon, he always blew the majors," said Sith buddy Brandon. Jon had great sucess in regular events, but the major haunted him. He twice blew good chances to win the Orange Shirt, left after having the lead in the Scott Balthrop, and got off to a slow start in the Tournament of Champions. Sadly, his quest for a major was never realized. "I remember Jon with many women in his bed. Sadly he wasn't there at the time!" laughed Steve. Jon life long thrist for women was always stopped by his desire to use Macs, eat Pez, and pick up top three's in croquet. He was the inventor, host, and champion of the first Pez Invitational. Since his great career was tragically cut short, we will remember him in his Pez Invitational. He may never have won a major, but he is always first in our hearts. Awwww!![]()
